Amerige G.
A little bit about me, I have always loved fitness and being active. Growing up a child athlete in the figure skating world, I always dreamed or competing professionally but due to financial struggles and later a career-ending injury, I had to say goodbye to the thing I first fell in love with. I retired in 2022 December.
After the pandemic had started, I began trying out weight-lifting. The last time I'd stepped foot in a gym it was only with the intention of burning calories, getting as thin as possible, and to achieve higher jumps in my sport.
After a few gym sessions with the barbell (Squatting, deadlifting, and benching) I had a new obsession, but this time it was life-saving!
I grew in love with the weights and soon started a new love. After a year and a half I deadlifted my first 315, and I felt so much power - not only in the weights but within myself.
I thrive off of educating young women, middle-aged women, older women, women of all sorts how important the weights are for not only your physical health but your mental health as well! of course calories are needed, but not to control your life!

After I turned 30, I decided to start powerlifting. I trained on my own for 6 months but eventually hit a plateau. That’s when I signed up to train with Amerige, and it was the best decision I could’ve made. Amerige is very knowledgeable, she keeps me accountable, and she pushes me especially when I need it. She’s developed a plan that works for my schedule, my needs and addresses the goals I’m working towards. Most recently, I squatted 300 pounds which is a milestone I thought would be months away! For years I have been unable to meet my fitness goals. I have felt out of place in a gym. Because of my little knowledge of phisical fitness I was unmotivated with at home workouts. I have been training with Amergie for —- months and I already feel confident working out on my own in any location. She is able to meet me where I am and helps me improve myself without making me feel uncomfortable. When I beat myself down and get discouraged she points out my accomplishments and how far I have come I am reminded to be kind to myself and body. She guides with patience and education. When I am struggling with a workout she explains what body part I am Targeting and why the workout helps build muscle. I feel stronger mentally and physically and I hope to keep working with her to finally reach my goals.
